JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:  The Housing Specialist performs duties to assist in the management and administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Family Self-Sufficiency case management through client centered coaching helping participants move toward successful graduation and maintaining compliance with the Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Housing Specialist will be primarily responsible for program participants; management of an assigned caseload in compliance with Federal Regulations, PHA Administrative Plan, FSS Action Plan, and program procedures. Responsible for landlord and participant relations, and interaction with local and state community services and government agencies including relationships with the community and community-based organizations, employers, school systems, and other resources available to the HCV/FSS participants.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must have a minimum of 1-year experience or education in assisted housing, social services or other related field. Strong personal computer skills, mathematical abilities, and interpret regulations and policies.  Strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary/Wage: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
