RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Office Specialist is responsible for assisting and performing duties in the day-to-day operations of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for the Community Services unit.  Supporting and assisting with, but not limited to the following: data processing, data entry, registering and processing applications, filing, sorting and distributing mail, and communicating with customers by phone, text and email. 

REQUIREMENTS:  High school diploma or equivalent. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and possess the ability to use a variety of software applications including unit specific software.  Ability to use basic office equipment (i.e., phone systems, copying machines, scanner/printers, and computers). 

Be a positive team player with excellent people skills.  Have the ability to communicate and work professionally with all clients, co-workers, and the public with a positive attitude while motivating and inspiring others. 

Ability to handle sensitive agency and participant information in a confidential manner. 

DETAILS:  Wage:  $15/hour;  This is a Seasonal position working up to 36 hours per week at our Central office in Appleton City, MO;  Starting date: Immediately; Application deadline: Open until position is filled; Grade 4.
