Join us this summer, as West Central hosts a series of events to engage community members and FUND RAISE for special causes! WE INVITE YOU — our friends and neighbors! By lending your support you’ll have the opportunity for FUN events while becoming better acquainted with the work we do!

Trivia Night, June 28, Friday, 6pm, El Dorado Springs. Raised money for improvements to the Liston Center kitchen.
Poker Run, September 14, Saturday. Register in Belton, stops in Harrisonville, Adrian, Passaic, Urich. Proceeds from the Poker Run will be used to fight hunger in the region.
Bingo to help Kiddos, September 20, Friday, 5:30 pm, Clinton, The Barn at Primitive Olde Crow – Proceeds will provide Christmas gifts and essential needs to children in the area.
“Spirits of the Games”, October 26, Saturday, Warsaw Community Building. An evening of fun and recognition with a meal, magician, costume contest, and other activities.

What does West Central Missouri Community Action Agency do?

When people who live rural areas don’t have enough income, access to helpful opportunities can be limited. WCMCAA connects residents in rural West Central Missouri to help with employment, food, housing, transportation, utility bills, and more, so they have choices as the create the success they envision for themselves and their families. 

What does New Growth do?

Additionally, there are extra challenges to starting and growing a business in rural communities. New Growth connects both farm and non-farm entrepreneurs with information and resources they may not know about so more businesses succeed here, creating jobs and strengthening our communities.

Poker Run to Fight Hunger – September 14, 2024

Poker Run – September 14, starting in Belton

Coming soon — the Poker Run on September 14. Participants will begin the day at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Belton, where they will receive directions to additional stops in Harrisonville, Adrian, Passaic, and Urich. The player with the winning poker hand will be awarded a vacation package to Eureka Springs, while the player with the worst hand will win tickets to the Grand Country Music show in Branson. Bingo for Kiddos – September 20, Primitive Olde Crow and Winery in the Barn

Mark your calendars for Bingo for Kiddos Night on September 20 at the Primitive Olde Crowe and Winery Barn in Clinton. This evening promises to be filled with fun and laughter, all while supporting a worthy cause—providing Christmas gifts and essentials for children in need. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on-site. Music Bingo kicks off at 6:00 PM. Bingo tickets are $20, and a 50/50 raffle and smaller $5 games will also be available. Comedian Todd Lacer will perform during the event along with a Facebook auction launching after Labor Day. Spirits of the Games — October 26, Warsaw

The final event in the series, Spirits of the Games, will be held on October 26 at the Warsaw Community Center. This evening will celebrate the spirit of community with a magic show, meal, costume contest, and an on-site raffle for a Hawaiian vacation. Participants and winners from previous events will be recognized, and a drawing will be held for a 7-night vacation package for six people. Tickets for the meal are $50 each or $80 per couple, and can be ordered at https://bit.ly/SpiritsoftheGamesTickets.  Vacation package raffle tickets are $100 each, with only 100 tickets available, offering a great chance to win. Trivia Night, June 28 – El Dorado Springs, MO

Looking for local summer fun? Step back in time to the fabulous 50s at Trivia Night Summer Lovin’! Join us at the Liston Center in El Dorado Springs, MO on Friday, June 28, for a root beer social half hour at 6pm, followed by a night of fun trivia and delicious food.

Gather your friends and form a team of 4 or more to compete for fantastic prizes, all while supporting a great cause. Sure to be GREAT FUN, the Trivia play will be expertly hosted by renowned trivia game enthusiasts (not us – by people who know what they’re doing!). Though there’ll be a 50’s decade category, it’ll be trivia for all eras, so be sure to invite your friends of all generations!

This event is a fundraiser for completing the Liston Community Center Kitchen, for the costume contest come dressed in your best 50s Danny, Sandy, or Rizzo, bring a few dollars to buy some food and more, and get ready for a night of fun and nostalgia!
